Lost my oil cap and blew a fusible link?

Had to buy another, no tellin where the oil cap is.
Probably lost in the sand somewhere at Preston Beach, ha ha ha.
Topped up my oil in Perth but left the rusty oil cap on the air box. (accident)

I think I was down about 1 Litre of oil when I refilled it this morning. :???:
I would have filled it immediately after losing the cap,
but I didn't know where I left my funnerl.

Thought my battery was stuffed,
but I could still arc the terminals with a jumper cable.
The bloke who installed my immobilizer suggested I look at fuses under the bonnet.
I found a fusible link with insulation that is gone...
wiggled the fusible link and the power came back on. :)

I pulled the leaky water pump off my quadcam EJ25, found that the previous owner had cut the guts out of the thermostat.
Dunno if I should leave the thermostat as is or get a new one, and not looking forward to putting the timing belt back on.

My muffler was making a hell of a racket, turned out to be stuffed. So took the opportunity to fit a cat-back 2" sports exhaust. Sounds wicked!

air HORNS in the Brumby - another lesson learnt - use both the natural horns wiring for switching of the new horns relay, not just the power side for relay trigger, that and a new earth for the relay caused horns to be on with no horn button action !!
