Low life
Low life
Last night someone decided it would be fun to bend the antenna on my 82 MY touring wagon right at the base which stuffs it totally. I have tried to staighten it but of course it crimped and will eventually break off.
The car has managed to get to 30 years old and no issues and now I have to replace something which should have outlasted the car because of someone who probably has the attention span of a small rodent and an IQ less than my shoe size. Sorry I realise others have had much worse happen to their cars by "relatives" of my culprit so I wont go on about it:mad::mad:

Cliff I find that quite offensive to small rodents
I think that this is a much much lower life form at work here
Sorry for your loss mate it gets rather tiresome after a while - which incidently is the aim of these life forms unfortunately

Yeah mate that is a bugger!
I know it wont fix it but if you use some pliers to squeeze where it is crimped to try make it as round as possible, it may last a bit longer... Then maybe wrap some tin around it like you get under the lid on an unopened Milo tin, with a small clamp to hold it in place.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.
Unfortunately, as they have bent the thing right at the base it is difficult to crimp back into some sort of round shape which is what I tried to do to get at least the bottom section of antenna back into the car which would have supported the rest of the it for a while. When I tried to squeeze it back round it cracked meaning, yes, it does go back in but not very far. I am hoping the Brumby antennas are the same so replacing it wont be an issue. It is just the sheer waste of my time and efforts and the way some of our fellow humans think (or their lack of it)

What a bugger, I just don't understand why people do that, are they bored or what?
I had to replace my antenna recently (broken for a while and not by rodent-people) and found you can't unplug the antenna wire from the antenna, it's one piece all the way back to the stereo
Ended up taking half the plastic trim out of the driver foot-well and the center console to get the radio out, as well as the bonnet pull-handle bracket. What a pain.

Will it ever end!?
