EA81 brumby stalling when warm:S:S

Post by guyph_01 » Wed Mar 03, 2010 12:04 am

hi guys,

My brothers red little brumby has developped this stalling problem lol.
She basically stalls when Warm. As soon as you press the clutch and the revs go down it take 2-3 secs for it to stall. Starts fine after that but does not keep idle.
Only get to normal the next day when she is statred from cold again.

Only does that when warm and doesnt stop.
Also it had this wierd thing, it used to blown the middle fusable link fuse every now and then but stopped for a while now:S

Any ideas on what could be causing the problem?

Thx
Guy

carby cleaner shot down all little holes of the carby when running can do wonders, so can a good fuel cleaner additive, new spark plugs, leads, cap, rotor, fuel filterS, air filter, inspect all air hoses and vacuum hoses, and if it has points and condensor - them tooo

Sounds like a carby issue or an vacuum line off the manifold somewhere??

I could even go the other way what condition is the thrust bearing in if it is cactus on start up it won't be a problem but when warm it will act like a brake on the whole engine causing it to stall mine had that same problem before I changed the clutch (pressure plate clutch and thrust bearing)

Wow, what and old thread.
I'm sry but you won't like the answer... Basically the solution was to drop in an EJ22 lol...

But check your vacum lines, leads, but yeah we just ended up replacing the engine:)

A common problem is the three screws that hold the carb base onto the carb body, two from the top are easy enought to get to but the thrid one is under the carb base and can only be tightende with the carb removed.

Also check that your choke is turning off correctly and also that your idle isn't set too low.

When was the last time your plugs, points, leads and air filter changed?
