Brumby door glass

Hi guys

I have a 1990 Brumby which may need passengers side door window replacement the question is are there any other models of subaru's which are the same when it comes to door windows.

There is only one other model.. it's the swingback but better off finding a brumby one, as there isn't many swingbacks in Aus.

Sorry but what do you mean when you say "may need"? you got esp and know something is going to happen to it?

Sorry guys when I say I may need it, its that no matter how much I adjust the glass to fit the door I end up with a 5mm gap at the top front corner where the glass curves from horizontal to the down slope(If that makes sense) but is water tight along all the other seams.
I've checked the door gap around the door to make sure the door hinges aren't sagging.
Having said that the car has been in a bingle at some time on the lefthand front and maybe just a poor repair job.
The easy fix would be to fit a weathershield but can't get them anywhere(Subby Dealer said not made anymore).
So I thought maybe the glass may have come from a different model and thats why it does fit correctly

if its only a 5mm gap maybe you could pack the rubber strip out with double sided weather strip from Clark rubber

I'm thinking there is only 2 other models that use the same glass.. Brumby and Hatch but Subaru made another model with longer doors, it was a 2 door coupe but from memory, the angle upto the rear corner was completely different and you wouldn't be able to fit one in a Brumby... you could however fit the Brumby glass in a coupe but then you'd have a 10 to 15 mm gap in the top rear corner.. kinda opposite to your situation??

Maybe look at the door gaps all the way around and see if they are the same

If you are only talking a 5mm gap then either the door is 'tweaked' in some way or you have simply not found the correct adjustment. Subaru's with frame-less door windows have a multitude of adjustments to get the door glass in correct alignment (and this is not including correct door position!). This is often a very time consuming process.

I have no experience with MYs but I assume it would be similar to the later L series models, which means you have to loosen the internal glass runners in the door and move the glass and runners into the correct position. Once you have done this you will most likely have to change the 'stoppers' that prevent the glass winding out too high.

Genuine Subaru manuals are the best at describing these adjustments and in which direction the glass will move, if you can get this information it would help.

looks like I'm in for a long weekend of trial and error, if anyone has the subaru manual with the adjustment procedures for the door glass that would be greatly appreciated as the gregory's manual is next to useles
