Lift Kit Help

AFAIK no other people making body lifts for brumbies brand new at this point in time other than crossbred.

Crossbred kit cost me about $500 from memory plus postage. may as well get the diff bash plate while your there, another $90.

and you can put a strut lift in the rear so long as your prepared to drill holes in your rear tubs and stuff about a bit...

do the body lift first to see if thats enough for you. it will at least be enough for your wallet to handle by the time you buy bigger wheels/tyres.

Ok, I googled it and I found another manufacturer. Hirise Subaru.
They are cheaper than Crossbred, just waiting for an email reply.

mate no longer in business afaik, trust me i emailed everyone you will not find anyone else but crossbred....

No such thing as cheap unless you have the time to make your own kit (and then your skilled time is wasted=$$$).

In SA 50mm or 2" is the maximum allowed, it can include suspension and body but combined must not exceed 50mm.

Although I drove my L with a 3" lift plus suspension for years with no problems

It should be body 50mm plus suspension.

One more question about lifts.
Does the exhaust get affected.
It should in theory as it is bolted to the engine and body.
What do people do?

It is. There's two ways to do it - the first it so dodgy something up - I did this with Ruby Scoo until I got sick of it, then I did the second option which is a custom exhaust from the cat back with it tucked up under the body for the best possible clearance.

You really can't go past the custom exhaust job, in my book it's really the way to do it properly.

Dunno about the exhaust thing but I just realized something; if we put a 2" kit on our cars (maximum allowed) and then put bigger wheels on thus raising the height further, this must be illegal right?

Ahh well you see.
I will be getting a custom exhaust soon.
So I think I might need to get the lift kit first.
Are there any other things that arnt compensated by the kit. ( steering linkage)
I know something needs doing to the gearbox?

Bigger wheels are anyway, even if they're raising a vehicle no more than 50mm...

Hmm, I thought bigger wheels were in an independent category of modification to suspension modifications? It would be the same category that includes track width. This will vary from state to state, but i'm speaking for Victoria.

I will research and report back, however, most of the time in my experience, you will get awa with something minor like a body lift, even if it is slightly over the legal 2", but something like huge tyres is obvious and asking for trouble. hence why i will have two sets, one road, one exclusive offroad.

No engineer in this day and age that's riddled with litigation will pass off on larger wheels. It's unfortunate, as I'd love to have my setup fully engineered but at the end of the day it's essentially the engineer putting his name on the line.

And while you'll get away with something minor - it just depends on how long until you're busted and then when you're busted how full on they'll go through your vehicle. Either way, police these days can pretty much shove a canary on any vehicle - this includes a high percentage of factory vehicles.

See here in WA we don't have any requirements on tyre sizes so we can go upto anything that us 25mm wider. So for me with my Forester I am going 215/75R15 BFG's while the stock size is only 205/70R15. Therefore keeping it legal but gaining an inch (25mm) of clearance.

While in our vehicle requirements we can only legally lift the body of the vehicle 50mm, this does not include the suspension like coil or leaf springs.

I currently have 1" (25mm) lift blocks with raised HD springs (1") so in theory I can change my blocks to 2", which I am and having the car fully legal. Overall I can get away with lifting my Forester 4"
