Yep understand the rear, to achieve the front LSD what would I have to do?

Split the gearbox and swap the front diff's centre to the LSD centre, then set the backlash and pre-tension before putting it all back together and installing the gearbox back in the subi.Brumby Kid wrote:Yep understand the rear, to achieve the front LSD what would I have to do?
The 5 speed L series gearbox is an easy upgrade and will *almost* bolt straight in - there are some little mods to do (as usual!) - do a search about it

This depends on a couple of factors:taza wrote:Install a rear LSD is that just bolt in or is adjusting needed like with the front?
1) does the LSD come in the rear casing with the correct ratio ready to go? (bolt in)
2) does the LSD come in the rear casing without the correct ratio - need to swap ratio (diff centre swap, same as below) = adjustments needed
3) does the LSD come as just the centre? If so you'll need to fit it inside your current diff, or find another diff of the same ratio that you need to have it fitted to. Andrew T has done a write up about it (search

Well if it's a diff centre like this:taza wrote:Im really keen to put the auto locker in the Foz in the next few weeks and want to put it in myself!

Stolen from Rex net
You'll need to have it fitted as a replacement centre to the one in your diff at the moment - or have another rear diff on hand so you can swap them as a whole unit like this:
You'll need to find out if you have diff output stubs or the female setup as above to make sure it's a direct fit.
