Had enough of winter

Post by Cliff R » Sat Jun 23, 2012 9:35 am

Right, just having a winge.
I have had enough of this stupid season (winter)
Totally crap week, up to 3 out of 4 kids off from school on any given day and they are still coughing and arguing now, wife now at doctors as she is coughing everywhere.
Only my son and I surviving at the moment. Suppose we will go down eventually.
Stupid cat is jumping up and pulling everything off the fridge and equally stupid dog keeps barking and locking himself up on the veranda.

Take zinc and vitamin C supplements. I have been taking them and I am cold free so far this year, and some of my work involves electrical work at schools, where previous years has seen me get frequent colds.

As for your other issues, keep the cat and dog outside.

Odly enough I get colds any time of year, doesn't have to be winter, and I don't have to have seen anyone who has one they just appear  Having 4 kids at school though, that would be a killer!

We're getting a decent amount of rain at the moment, hopefully doing something towards fixing our soils hydrophobia. Decent rain is a novelty so I'm not complaining :o

Zinc is a big deficiency we seem to have in our diets, selenium too. Not from the foods but due to lacking in soils they are grown in. An old friend 82, used to be a food/nutrition researcher/scientist - the above is one thing that has actually sunk in from our discussions :) That and his cure for migraines :) + :)

Bought zinc today and already have vitamin C so see how I go.
The weekend has been a total write off even today as it was an RDO.
Wanted to have a wheel balance on the L series but no time.
Think I will go to bed early tonight and get up early for a gym session before heading off into TAFE to get our apprentices started and wander into work mid morning.
May as well try to salvage this week in some way before it completely stuffs up.

What was that again? I need to give it a go next time I have that evil cloud surround me :(

As for winter, I'm enjoying it even though I'm still pining for the snow season - it's been a great start too  Bloody Murphy and his stupid laws!

Cliff, I'm hoping that you pass through without getting the cold, it's always the worst getting it last IMO.

Cheers

Im a bit late to join this thread. I know what you mean Cliff. I had 2 of 3 kids off that week also (all but Wed). Things have since gotten better but its hard when there are things to be done and everyone is sick. I try to go out to the shed when things like this happen, just listen to the J's and chill a while tinkering with nothing but spending some time to think and clear ones head. Well that and PC games :)

Me and the boy child are still OK and the other 4 family members are getting better.
Havent had much time to write as getting new job (with same company) but need to get the apprentices out of the workshop so I too can move on.
Thanks for all the comments and will send some posts as time permits
