Coil overs are from an MX5 front cut, that I pulled apart when I worked at the wrecker in Perth.Gannon wrote:I am somewhat interested, where they loose in the shock when the shock was fully extended?

I will say that if they were set up differently jetcar would sit a lot lower than she is now. as for the king springs they were rattling in the shock when fully extended.
king springs have KSHS-02 SO16222 written on them

So what are you doing with those factory adjustable rear shocks? Could they make their way to NSW?

yes they could but I'm pretty sure that one of them is stuffed. as when it compresses there is no rebound. having said that Im not sure if they work as dampers or are meant to decompress on their own.Gannon wrote:So what are you doing with those factory adjustable rear shocks? Not sure if they are rebuildable - think all that stopped in 1984 with MY. Cannot say now either coz I threw my motorbike like adjustables out - the lowest setting was still too high - something like 145, 158 and 170mm settings. Take the coil cut springs - lighter in the post , and you will have something to gauge with and they may only rattle on rego inspections or when you get some a-i-r

So I drove Jetcar to Manjimup (150km from Australind) on Sunday for work was a great drive apart from the drive home with 1.5 headlights stuck on high beam. I have had this problem since I bought jetcar. I have the parts to fix the problem, which I thought was in the light switches. as the front panel had collapsed and none of those switches worked. I thought it was causing a short in the switches making the high beam stay so I pulled the it all apart.
off comes the steering wheel... or does it?
There is a screw that holds one side of the pad in place and under the horn pad a screw that holds the earth wire in place make sure they get undone.
(I missed a photo of the telescopic steering adjuster sorry)
2 screws hold in the indicator assembly
4 bolts hold in the wiper and light controls
Then the fun off unplugging it all begins
to see it all put back together scroll up
so I replaced the indicator assembly and the wipers and lights switches.
high beam works and now I can put the headlights up and have them stay up without the lights being on.
the problem with high beam wasn't the broken switches it was this.
the white plastic toggle that had jammed on. when I started playing with it once it was off the car, it started working again. So I have a spare indicator assembly (which I'm keeping)
So now I have high and low beam but I only have 1.5 headlights.
I have checked everything, the left light fuse is good, as is the right light fuse. when I remove the left light fuse both the lights stay on. when I remove the right light fuse both lights go off. this happens on high beam or low beam.
I can't find the relays and I'm 99% sure it is a wiring fault or the relays but it has me stumped.
help!!!

Have you got a wiring diagram. I have studied the headlight diagram before and there is a tricky setup that links the headlight motors to the lights
I have a copy if you need it

nice pedal pads ! - thought you got new ones ??
Gees, Jules, when you are doing any testing think back to all other Subie lighting and switching like horns - if you test for power side, use the same circuits earthing side for test lamp and not just straight to body or neg terminal - likely is in the DNA to give bum steers if you don't.
Did someone ask if there was any corrosion in the connctor terminals >?

I have a set of new pedals but Im putting them on the brumby and the old ones on Jetcar (when my daughter lets me)
I tested both ways, hoping it might shock the circuit back to life but it didn't.
all of the guff on the internet leads to fuses or relays, the fuses are fine ... where the hell do the relays live?

Most likely near the headlight globe relays which usually usually above the fuse box.

Looks like the wires that go to the dizzy and coil
