motas wrote:Sorry missed your post. Ive decided I want an sti in the long run and it is far too much work to convert a rs to a sti. The na should run fine if it has the rs computer in it shouldnt it? The hardware is easy we have plenty of room to store it but the wiring is the biggest issue making me not want to do it. The mechanical swapping of components is easy to do and i have no worries doing that as long as I dont have to fab (I am capable of it but that requires engineering etc etc) but I have no experience wiring and this is not the car i want to learn on. Ill probably wire my future cj myself since it is a whole lot simpler but the wrx would have so much more things to wire id probably stuff it up.
If it is registered as non turbo and they can clearly see it doesnt have a turbo I shouldnt get booked should I? Cops arent that bad from what ive seen, im yet to get a canary on my jeep with clearanced fenders and 33s which stick out past my flares by a few inches .
I dont know what to do though :(
As said just get an RS (with the 2.5l motor they go like a shower of shit for a non turbo anyway) then sell it off when your off your P-Plates. I just got off my P's a month and abit ago but here in WA we can have what ever we want while on our P-plates.

For the cost and work involved as mentioned and all the issues that could arise as with any modification it's not worth it.

Just my 2 cents
Taz

Yeah I'm in the "not to mod" side. the cost would be more than selling and buying another car.

so you could always save the money now and get an L series etc, great fun to play with, simple to work on then put the rest of the money into the "save for STI fund"

I know your on your P's but...
Don't bother with less than a wrx.
Ruth get a wrx, or an STi.
Anything less isnt worth it.
You will never look back, ( untill you see your insurance premium and excess)

Yer if I could get a rex I would. I'll just get an rs. I don't know what an l series is but I assume older. I don't want older and don't want a project car that needs fixing im already about to buy an ~85 cj10 jeep.

I think I'll stick to my rs thanks lol. Bit too old for my liking for a daily driver since I'll have another old unreliable car to deal with.

Bennie will be hurt to hear that comment. Unreliable ? It was due to the reliability and versatility of the MY (Brumby shape) and L Series that everyone bought the EJ series subes :)

I also thought the Brumby would be crap due to a tin rocker covered EA81, the L , hated the interior, brown more so - then I got two L turbo sedans with a colour combo inspired by a Jaffa :D

No I was talking about my cj being old and unreliable. I still don't want something as old as an l series.
