questions on peugeot wheels

hey I want to get some 14'' wheels for my l series i have been looking at kings wheels but to buy these new with som decent rubber is prob gonna be around the $800-$900 mark so iam looking for a cheaper option. so if anyone running some pugs if you can could post some pics of what they look like and what the price paid for them. Info would be awsome thanks,

Pug rims on the L that I bought. better off-set than speedy's so won't stick out of the guard so much. Won't buckle as easy as an alloy rim.

peugeot 504 rims use wheel nuts which incorporate washers and have no centre hole and are a hassle to get balanced.505 rims are conventional and a better bet.Good luck .

505 as above. Issues are finding centre caps (almost impossible), and they can be hard to find as a lot of 505 owners had metric (390mm) rims and can't get tyres anymore so switch to 15" alloys (if you can find them) or 14" steel. You won't bend a 14" Pug - unlike the aftermarket wheels.

If you are going EJ20 I'd probably suggest 5-stud conversion if you can afford it...or at the very least EA82 Turbo rear discs.

Mine are a different design to the above. Not sure what they are called (maybe 504) they have no centre cap.

If you want a better pic then let me know and i'll go take a close up. In terms of a price ??? they are rare and hard to find. I think that mine were a swap for a good working gear box many years ago now.

Yep, 504, The old school thing to do was to get the dome in the centre machined off, so the wheel will fit on an electronic wheel balancer, and Subie center caps fit.
This could be done properly on a lathe, or by putting the car on stands in gear and hitting it with the grinder!

These are pug 505 turbo alloys, 4x140 15x6. Purchased on e-bay for 107.77 plus about 53.00 postage. Good luck!

The picture that subaru dude posted above is of their mags I know for a fact that they came out on the 505 STI but not so sure if all the turbos came out with the STI pack (Luxury model) but most of the ones I know of ended up with any of the other four stud rims as the ones pictured are for the european sized tire and were a hard to get and expensive tire to get however if you can find a retread mob that still does car tires they may be able to help you out, But as far as i know this size is getting increasingly hard to get!

Can anyone tell me if Pug 505 steel or alloy rims stick outside the front and back of an L series or do they sit under or flush with the guards, do the steels have a different offset to the alloys. ?
I am looking for a 14" alternative to Sunnies (cheap/bad offset) or Scorpions (expensive/right offset).
I do not want anything that sticks outside the guards and may cause Police interest though and do not want to fit flexy flares either.
Just to confirm it is the 505 rims that are the best to use and the easiest to balance isnt it ?
Also, IF I end up with 14" rims (say, Pug) what 14" tyre fits without rubbing on a car WITHOUT a lift kit fitted. Is this the same tyre for say a steel rim or an alloy rim.

I think it is 504/5.
As long as they fit imperial sized tyres.
Metric tyres are rare and hellishly expensive.

Here are some 15" 505 steel wheels i picked up. These ones only came out on the wagons and can be hard to find. Sourced mine from a peugeot wreckers through a family memeber that is a peugeot enthusiast. Needs a centre cap but measured it and its a 63.5mm or 2 1/2" across, so will fit quite a few american or aftermarket centre caps. Just chasing a set at the moment

i have sunnies on my L series and i love the offset only stick out around an inch makes the car look heaps better.. u can get a 2nd hand set for around $150, or there new $60 each.. heres some pics

have you measured the width of the rim by any chance?
