need help asap

Post by panda182 » Tue Sep 11, 2012 2:23 pm

i need help i now own "d_generate's" old Impreza wagon. Now the problem that i have atm is the car has welded trailing arms that are not legal, well at least in QLD, there are lowing blocks, it has forester struts and Dobson springs that give it a bit more lift, I’ve done what everyone has said and gone and got myself some early model outback trailing arm brackets to replace the wrx ones to get some more length out of the trailing arm but like I’ve said I still can’t get the length. I really need help i need the car on the road ASAP because I’m over catching the bus.

I dono if i can get adjustable ones or if i have to lift the trailing arm bracket even higher with blocks?

any advice would be great, especially if anyone know the exact Solution

this is how high it sits

Good too see that his wrx went to a good home! It's a real beast ;)

Can't you get the trailing arms engineered to be legal??
Early forester ones could be longer than outback ones... but im not 100% sure

engineering in QLD isnt that expensive, i had 'Forced Induction' Modifications made to engine bay' Bride seats with custom rails' and 'interior rollcage' in my Forester Mod-Plated for $350

Just go the Outback ones with a 25mm lift (look in the green tupperware container, I think I left some blocks and correct bolts in there) until it's passed then go back to the modified ones, this was a bit of a rush job and I never had the time nor the inclination to paint them so they looked stock, from memory I just threw a bit of blue paint on themI had a 60mm lift with the WRX arms and it still drove like a twitchy pig, only solution was what it has but I never tried Outback brackets
