EJ oil pumps
Anyone know if the early EJ20 oil pumps are the same shape, size, output/pressure as the Gen2 EJ22s?
I need to replace an oil pump on an EJ22 and have the EJ20 sitting around doing nothing, I thought I'd pilfer that oil pump to use in the 22.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers

Same oil pump, a while ago a pump was needed on a 1995 liberty and the oil pump off my ej20 went on with out an argument.
They are listed on ebay as well fitting from the ej16 to the ej22.
if you are worried, compare them when you pull them off. they will look exactly the same.

Just check the tanks are the same or can be swapped but the major difference I've seen in the pumps is the nose/snout sizes, just have a measure and compare

Yeah, the problem with this is that I'm driving the car daily and I don't want to find out that the other oil pump won't be suitable once I've got the EJ22 stripped down.TOONGA wrote:compare them when you pull them off. they will look exactly the same.
I also don't want to spend a packet on getting this leak sorted either. I want to replace the oil pump because we've had it off before to seal it up, there was some damage to one of the corners from what looked like a hammer that had been used - the pump had been off before too.
As I said to Andy, it could just be a set of seals, but we did them 18 months ago and I wouldn't expect them to be leaking so much so soon. I'd rather have all my bases covered before I pull this sucker apart!
I must say that I'm enjoying the AWD handling and the low centre of gravity, it's a great combination and very different to Ruby Scoo. I still don't think I could move from the ol' L series yet either. This car will be going back to it's owner somewhere near christmas - he's currently OS (good timing for me with the spring nationals on in a week - Ruby Scoo can stay at home

Well, if this information is reliable, it's got my answer that it'll fit without an issue:
