R/C Subaru Brat
G'day guys
I was led astray with the relatives asking what I wanted for Christmas. Seems they had it all along. So no Addco Swaybar coming for a bit. I'm gonna order 1 myself now. Anyway got this instead. Very cool.
I'll keep you updated when I start to build this for a bit of fun. The body has a lot of detail to be hand painted. I think this will be the hardest part. Anyone else have one of these? Maybe a photo of one finished too.
Cheers Jake

That's what I was thinking too. Should be cool anyway... does it come with it's own motor setup or do you have to buy your own? Some electrics they make these day would have a top speed higher then the Brumby... pretty amazing.Rodeo4jake wrote:Nah wish you could though, that would be cool. If they did I'd paint it white & replicate my real Brumby decals on it.

That's right this one is from the us, they have re released it with a few slight changes. Original 80s kit would be worth a bit more. Been looking at it & I think you could just put the driver on the other side. It's not really a complete interior, just a little man with a wheel in his hands.El_Freddo wrote:Sweet. I know you can still get these pretty easily from the US fleabay...
The only problem with these kits is that the steering wheel is on the wrong side

G'day guys
It was too hot to do anything outside today, so I started on the build.

The assembly is the easy stuff, painting the shell will burn some hours.
Cheers

Yup, 1982 front clip on the model...the best looking of the MY series imho (I'm biased, I run an 82 grille, chrome headlight surrounds and chrome front bar on my '89 ).

Yer they are cool. I have one stashed in a box never assembled out the back shed.
I got the chrome limited edition.
the hard body is fully chromed and it also includes the poly carbonite body.
If i do ever build it it will be brushless with Digital titanum gear servo.
LiPo. full Telemtry. It will only ever get driven once and packed back in a box or put out on display never to be driven again.

The Frog and Brat share the same chassis.
I had a Frog in the early '80s, I also have a Brat body conversion kit.
Beware that being only rear wheel drive, they are prone to rear diff planetary gear stripping/failure.
If you can handle skipping rear wheels on turning, I would make the rear diff a permanent locker.
