Whats the trick with the clutch lever????

Post by cowboy » Tue Jan 29, 2013 7:55 pm

Hi all,

Im trying to split an EJ22 from a front wheel drive manual gearbox so i can put the motor into my gen 1 lib.
problem is that the driveshaft wont release from the clutch cos i cant remove the clutch lever from the thrust bearing. is there some tricky clip or bolt holding it in there?? i assume that i will have to fit the gearbox up to the engine again to release whatever is holding it in there.

Just done an STI converstion to a mates RS LIB, and that was straightforward compared to the old clutch im working on now once I knew what to look for.

would appreciate any help cheers.

Hi guys, thanks for all your help:)
there was a small bracket at the back of the gearbox that was holding it all together. Duh!! got her all apart and put the motor in to the Liberty.... all good.
