Also Jonno, a little tip to make your life a bit easier if you want to post pictures of the info on your PC screen instead of taking a photo with the camera, loading them onto the PC then posting them. Just press "PrtSc/SysRq" button above the Delete and Insert keys. Then go into MS paint, "Edit>paste" and the pic will appear, then save as .jpg and upload as normal.

nearly signed in as woohoo
I am in on my mobile tethered to the PCs USB
I remained connected via dongle while I clicked on the driver and somehow downloaded Microsofts ActivSync 4.5 , then a warning came up could not find stuff etc, so bugger, try later. I only got GIMP2 when clicked on the green ico, came up like a tool for drawing ?? buggerx2.
Just closed off the doodoo dongle, clicked on Mozilla Firefox icon onscreen and bingo - got a pretty quick google homey comin up !!
Charges up my phone at the same time.
On the toolbar of the phone (where I now know must look for emails, calls and messages received) the connected arrow up and down has turned blue - likely from the temp difference from yesterday to today.
Thanks for all your assistance Mr Jules. Can you also hope us a few Lotto numbers too !
WOOHOO!!!
Will have to give it a run for a while before ditchng long term provider

* PrtSc or Ctrl-PrtSc will capture the whole desktop area (including across multiple monitors).
* Alt-PrtSc (same as old SysRq) will capture only the currently active window- useful for capturing dialog boxes or error messages and saves editing.
* Free image viewers like Xnview or Irfanview have "capture screen" utilities/tools that allow you to selectively capture a whole screen, window, a rectangular area or even window pane (part of a window) and trigger instantly (once the program has hidden itself), off a timer or off a particular key / key-combination.
I remember the old days where PrtSc would dump straight to the printer, so long as you had the correct printer type and graphics.com loaded...did a lot of Uni work that way.

Stayed back one night on the 31st March creating a blank screen into a fake disaster holding up huge funds hit PrintScreen button and left it on the managers desk for the next morning
That was an interesting read, sounded like a good idea to connect my laptop to the internet, via the mobile phone. I thought it cant be that hard as its only a 1 or 0 (data)
Luckilly my motorola android had the "hot spot", this makes it much simpler than yours Jonno, so simple, even I could do it:D.
Less than 5 mins at it all magically worked.
I loved DOS, but this modern, newfangled technology stuff is pretty cool.

Oh your a lucky burger. The software I downloaded apologised that due to complaints related to wifi hotspots was no longer available. Suited me
Gosh , the first motion images I saw on a computer screen was stored on a big floppy 5" , was as crude as the image, crude image, crude quality. Wondered why my manager got his jollies in transferring the images of two others getting their jollies?
Really starting to appreciate the phone I tried to destroy, understand a few of the icons of message, missed call, email - oh wow ! Just need to explore all the other features , all in good time

Still going great when i remember to hook up and tell phone it is to be tethered.
Only problem I get from Firefox is when I try to go to my ISP webmail through their website - get this untrusted site warnings, click to tell it is a trusted site (is it ?) get another warning, so back track.
Think it is time to ditch the ISP email and OE and share my stuff with hotmail or gmail
Still thanks to the guys who helped

Firefox Plugins
Jonno,
a few free plugins/add-ons I'd recommend for Firefox:
1) Adblock Plus: Will filter a lot of those pesky adverts out
2) Noscript: This stops javascript by default. You can enable the sites/bits you want as you go and prevent a lot of adbots getting at you, amongst other things. You need to enable certain ones as you go, but be selective- if in doubt, google the site. You'd be surprised how may ad-based site scripts some sites (and other forums) use. It also helps prevent 'clickjacking', redirections and the like.
3) Flashblock is also good for preventing automatic flash animations and the like- click to view.
These also help you save bandwidth and 'speed up' you connection by preventing downloading what you don't want.
In firefox go to Tools -> Add-ons, select Get add-ons and search for 'em.
