Are we still a group?

Post by tim_81coupe » Tue Jun 27, 2006 7:53 pm

Do we still go offroading as a group? I know I missed the May 21st bash, that was mostly due to saving for my ACT trip. But apart from that there hasn't been an offroad bash for yonks.

Reason I'm asking is because I'm intensely reconsidering my car situation and wondering if I can justify an offroader. I haven't pulled the 4WD lever in what feels like years and my spare axle is nice and clean.

Does the WA crew still exist? Can I justify paying fuel and rego on a car thats not suited to the task of daily commuting, and can't pull the skin off a rice pudding?

Sorry to sound a bit down about it all, but hey, I am.

Your not the only one that has been re-considering the idea of owning an offroader. I know of a few other people that are on the edge of doing away with there subi offroader.

I for one miss the trips and intend on cranking out some trips in a few weeks. Just waiting for my motor and my clutch to be done and then it's on like donkey kong.

Andrews car is almost completed meaning he will be coming out again soon... Jays L needs a box swap but he intends on doing that soon... and that should be done about the same time as mine. Jaffa is still trying to get his sticker off... as soon as that is done he will be in too. Alex is sticking with his offroad mods and getting his up to scratch for more meets too.

The group still exisits... just most of us are in a situation where we are getting work done on our cars. I expect that in about 4 weeks time most of us will be back on the road and itching to go off road.

mine should be done soon.... in saying that though, we're starting to look at houses... probably lookin around the 400 000thou mark :!: :!:

crunching the numbers to see what works best. Worst comes to worst, may be getting rid of both my cars   even though ive only had the wrx for a short time.

but depending on which one sells first and how much for, things may change.

like i said, just crunching numbers for now, but when decided, action will follow quickly. So dont stress dave.

Happens to the best of us mate, but you can still enjoy a bit of fun offroad etc, even if its a cheaper form, like an MY.

I would hope to make an effort soon for a drive, just having to sort the L out before it goes out. The MY is always ready and reliable.

Whats the big deal....an offroader is perfectly good as a daily anyway :)

Just do like me, have the offroader as your daily and your lowered race car as a backup-daily.

Dito Aspro (the girls wana go camping and 4WD again). I should have given you all a sticker update however I have just been flat out – I’ll put something in that thread. We still go 4WDing and plan to continue doing it again. We used to go fortnightly however could not get you buggers out there all the time with us ( :P hence the RX project). As Dave said be ready and expect things to change in the next few weeks.
