Awesome!

If you really want to keep your engine looking like this, find some clear engine enamel and spray it up. Painted alloy is a pot load easier to clean than non painted - grime doesn't bake on with a painted surface.

Worth the time I reckon, especially if you've blasted it!

Keep up the good work!

Cheers

Cheers fella's

Silverbullet, yeah I spent a bit of time with the pressure cleaner blasting out the galleries. I may still even get some hydrocarbon degreaser and soak the parts completely submerged for a while, just to make sure any oil I missed in the inital wash comes loose and washes out.

Bennie, Deffinately going to paint it, been planning to since the start . Might go green or blue on the rocker covers and sump. Black hides oil too well. Maybe canary Yellow :p.

Here's one for you guys, whats "missing" from this intake?

hmm, maybe this pic makes it easier to see....

Here is a stock one. Just removed the cast aluminium where it didnt match the valve seat insert.

Will give them a general polish and remove the odd lump's of casting impurities. Should look good.

Nice work!

Keep it up - I've never noticed this lip, but then again I've not looked at the EA81 heads as I've not had one off yet - and I hope it's going to be a long time before I do!

Cheers

Cheers Bennie! Yeah it looks wrong so I had to fix it ;). Figured I have at least a week and a half untill I order some motor bearings, then maybe 2 weeks shipping. Plenty of time to do all the little things that I just dont do if I dont take my time :D.

Dont be too sure of that, EA81 is a power house. Managed to snap my speedo cable yesterday. Luckily I have a spare insert.

In other news, went and picked up a box today. Has this on the side,

Hmmm, wonder what could be inside.....should I say?....nah, I think Il just wait and see if I go ahead with it before spilling any beans. Its gonna be shoved back anyway as I need to rewire my whole wagon first. Been putting it off for too long and now its gotten under my skin for the last time.

Toonga Knows , funny thing is though, whats in the box is an irrelevant question. The real burning question is Dual superchargers or dual Turbos .

That degreaser you used sounds alot like truck wash, works great but don't breath it in :(

Im thinking the rocker covers could be STI pink and the bits and pieces could be 22B blue :)

I know nothing, I see nothing, I hear nothing :)

I did think about that and Indeed It would look mad . You know what, maybe it might just happen :D.

Other thought were along the lines of bolting both my EA81's together. one red, one silver. 3.6L H8. Talk about Torque ;).

Sorry fella's, no real update on the engine. Still packed up in the back of my wagon from the journey home. Been fixing other toys, one in particular that I have had on the chopping board for a while, then smashed last weekend at 160kmh . Will most likely be ordering some parts soon.

Black is a great colour to hide oil leaks :)
