What did you do to improve your soobie today

Installed a second hand CB radio today. With a bit of massaging it fits nicely into where the ash tray used to be. Also hooked up the external speaker wire to the speaker that sits in the passengers side of the dash. Just need to make a hanger for the hand mic and its done.

I have just replaced the ignition on the steering column with one I bought on ebay. Just as a word of caution, the one I bought has a stalk that is at a slightly different angle to the old one and sits differently. Now my indicators wont cancel!!! Dont know what is worse, dicky ignition or indicators that dont stop.

No, it folds up against the roof. I measured it so the hinge point was as high as possible, ruling out folding it up against the top section. That would be a maximum of a bit less than half, this way its more like 2/3 is hinged

Hey, your lucky horse shoe is upside down. It should be up the other way to hold the luck in.

Nachaluva: Thought about another hinge in the middle of the current door flap would allow you to fold it up against the top of the cage - this would allow those odd shaped things to be transported without the door getting in the way

Just a thought, I'm not sure you're super keen on pulling it out again, cutting, welding and painting it then replacing it back in the vehicle...

I had just loaded my 17 month old into the child seat in the left rear when my best mate said "that doesn't look real good...."

I said something similar to NachaLuva...

It is all good now though. The thread was perfect, so I am assuming it had only just started coming out. New nut and my trailing link is once again doing whatever it is a trailing link does.

Shit mate, I'm not sure you know how lucky you are! If that bolt dropped out there goes your rear wheel, then your control of the vehicle very shortly after the bolt goes!

Glad it was sorted before you went for a drive with your 17 month old!

upgraded High and Low beams to Xtreme Vision +100 globes. What a B**** of a job on my 2011 Outback. Has to be the most ridiculous design ever. Happy with result though.

LanaB, vehicle designers never think about the mechanic or owner wanting to work on the machine.

Some of the worse cars to ever work on were the Morris minis and 1500's. And that was before all the computer/pollution stuff. Ask anyone who has changed a lower radiator hose or exhaust manifold flange gasket. The exhaust is wedged between the block and the firewall, the lower radiator hose you ahve to have 30mm hands.

Met a guy on the side of the road in Footscray once. He had a Jaguar V12 convertible. He had a water leak. I wanted to help (no mobile phones them days) and asked him to raise the bonnet. I took one look then told him to close it again and went to a phone box to ring for help lol....

Lana, glad you're happy with the result, standard Subie lights do need a helping hand, at least with the older models

My improvement was a small one, new LED interior light after the old one progressively lost half its LEDs. This one is a 48 smd LED...nice & bright again

They are a universal fit for seats with airbags, with an added panel at the back of the seat. This is because the kids love to put their dirty shoes on the back of the front seats. Very well made and fit very well for a "universal" seat cover. will see how they go but thumbs up
