We've got a roll bar and rear bar to go on Sunnie the Brumby. The roll bar is what you'd already know, the rear bar is a hoop that fits into a set of wall mounted tubes - I'd like to change this to make the mounting tubes to extend to the floor for better strength and stability. The hoop slips in and out as needed.
We're still yet to fit it all in the ute as it needs painting etc and it's "just another thing to do"...
Cheers
Bennie
Edit: When you said roof racks, I thought you mean on the roof - in which case a set of racks from a wagon are the way to go

I know the front bar, roll bar and rear bar is the norm, but I'm after roof racks. What i want them for is occasionally throwing a spare wheel up there, to you're down things testing in the tray up to them, etc. I may put a rear loop in some time but like Bennie said, its just another thing to do. I won't be having a bull bar nor roll bar on this car.

Because that's a lot of effort for occasional use, and it would get in the way of every day use of the car.

So just normal roof racks off any other MY would do the trick, obviously mounted closer together

Here's a pic of my old Brumby with one rola roof rack on it. You could easily make 2 fit or you could make your own gutter mounted flat basket.

Yes, I know MY racks would work, I would liked to see some pictures though. So i can get an idea of which style/type I would prefer. Thanks
As for bonnet mounted, that is illegal and unsafe. Plus it would be a huge PITA for me because I hate things getting in my view while driving.

Sorry.. missed putting up the link with my pic but all fixed now. Kinda hard to see but even John's (wagonman) L.Series which is next to me, has the same bars.

Thanks, they are the type I was talking about. I've always known them as "roof racks" but it appears many others and a different idea of what roof racks are.
So they are Rola ones, wouldn't happen to know the model?

I'm pretty sure the correct term is Roof Racks and these ones I had were called the "Rola Sports Gutter Mount Roof Racks" The kit number is GM183

roof rack
You could make up a couple of roof racks like I did . angle brackets height to suit then weld small tube to bracket then weld bolt to a small piece of 20-25 mm angle fit bolt up through tube on larger angle then do same on other side then we;d square hollow section to large bracket. one done now repeat
