Centre console trim

Post by Shorty_T » Wed Apr 02, 2014 8:01 pm

Hey guys,

I found a pic on here that is exactly what I'm looking for for a headunit install in a MY wagon:

If anyone can shed some light on which models this headunit surround/ashtray trim came in that would be great.

Even better would be if someone has one they want to sell :)

Cheers.

Well our family's MY wagon (my resto now) has that console, year 1981 bog standard model not touring wagon. I still have the console although beaten up and hacked into by previous driver (my brother ) but I'm still going to use it. So if you're looking for one I'd say very early standard (not touring) wagons.
Will it ever end!?

That's the same as what was in my brumby ...

Ended up cutting mine up to make this :

Still haven't finished it yet ... :(

Add : One of the reasons for modifying was that I was not able to load a CD ( the angle to load it clashes ) ... :(

Cheers, Bantum ...

The infamous slanted console, seen on base model 80-82 MY's - never found one on a Brumby.
Tan is hard to find
Blue is much harder
Grey is just about impossible

I saw one on USMB a few months back for $50, the last couple I've found I've sold for around $25 (one went to a member here, the other to a USMB member).

Good luck.
1989 Brumby - Shiny new red paint, stroked EJ20 phase 2 SOHC with Darton sleeves bored to EJ22, Wiseco high-compression pistons, Delta 2000 grind cams , EJ/XT6 5 stud with WRX 4/2 pots, 5-speed, 86 GTS seats and so much more.
Contact me for reproduction XT6 hubs...and EA82 rear discs.

Thanks for the info guys.

I'll keep an eye out, but I don't like my chances from what I'm hearing!

Looks like I might just have to get creative with one of the more common varieties.

Cheers!
