Losing thrust bearing clips...

Post by SuBaRiNo » Sat Jul 22, 2006 8:22 pm

Has anyone done anything different with the way a thrust bearing clips to the clutch fork on an L series or MY gear box?

I seam to be missing one of the metal wire clips everytime i check it. I have tried bending the metal clips in a little to help them stay on but they still seam to come off.

Any ideas or suggestions.

Dave, check the travel on the fork (or pedal travel too), may be pushing the bearing too far into pressure plate fingers and popping the clip?

I only lost one though... and the one thats still in there looks perfect and not bent out of wack.

Wouldn't that pop both?? Also how would i go about checking the pedal travel?

Just a Q, but when you are putting them on you arent inadverdantly opening up the clip so it sits in loose?
