Extending the life of a boat anchor
Too this....
Lots of hand pain going on to mill the thermostat housing faces to a perfect finish. They were pitted and what not. Previously a cause of minor leaks even with a genuine gasket. Might I add the genuine thermostat and gasket are still the best! Thermostat housing has been ceramic coated BTW.
My custom EQUAL length (sorry you unequal length advocates) headers in black ceramic finish.

And in the engine bay looks something like this:
Even the radiator has been re-cored and thermo fan shroud powder coated and fasteners zinc plated. sorry no pics on those.
Starter motor cables are new, I have made from 4G Tefzel cable with appropriate crimped eye terminals.
And there is this under development for the main battery
Which will go here:
I will leave the rest to your imagination

Yep a very nice anchor ... pity to do so much work to it just to throw it in the ocean but hey I suppose it will last longer
I guess this has been asked before but do you do this for a living or a hobby?
I ask as I have seen "mechanic reconditioned engines" on the shelf with way less effort put into them.
A job well done.
I'm sure a board member would snap it up if it was ever put up for sale once the turbo engine is finished.

Thanks, but I would hope that your last comment is how the story ends!Yep a very nice anchor ... pity to do so much work to it just to throw it in the ocean but hey I suppose it will last longer

Its a hobby. If there was a market I might do this for enthusiasts.
I dont really entrust my car to any mechanic (Sorry RSR555 your a bit too far away ) Plus I've learnt my lessons. Do it well, or let someone else do it and be disappointed
If I cant build a basic engine to some degree of high standard, what hope do I have of something more creative.
