car fixed

Post by chubby37 » Sat Jul 22, 2006 7:02 pm

well it was fixed until he decided to get me to patch a couple of tiny rust holes at the top of the windscreen
when the windscreen came out it became a lot bigger a job to do the rust than just 2 little holes

rust

Post by _curlie_ » Sun Jul 23, 2006 7:25 am

the car has had the rust fixed up

bill (chubby37) was a master at fixing the rust

with a bit of fibreglass and a bit of bog and a bit of stop putty he was able to recreate the parts of the car that the rust ate

8) 8) 8) so if you need rust work done cheap but very good see chubby37 8) 8) 8)

Yeah I've been to CityView 3 times. As long as you've got a 2" lift and a bash guard you'll be fine. Most of the tracks are reasonably subaru friendly, and those that aren't can be driven around.

Of course being me I tend to go on the tracks that aren't subaru friendly :) Last trip I snapped a stubb axle on the rear diff at Jeepers Jumpup. I also did some pretty major reshaping of my sills :)

Same trip we had two land-rovers break rear diffs, both still drivable in FWD but needed a lot of help to get one. By the end of the day one had ripped a hole in the diff that you could fit your hand into, the other's diff locked up and it's tailshaft turned into a twistie.

Here's a non-subaru photo from the comp area of a rangie pre-diff breakage:
