Theres 5 L's at Lonsdale, one pictured above is 3.9 auto, rest are 3.7. There is only 2 at Elizabeth, really don't want to drive 50 minutes there and 50 back if neither are 3.9. One is an 85 so it's got a pretty good chance of being 3.9. I thought the Tourings were 3.9, so it's only the early touring wagons that were guaranteed 3.9?

By my experience the series 1s were 3.9. So an 85 4wd *should* be 3.9 ratio.
Also be aware that the series 1 also came in single range - and 3.9 ratio. The ones I've seen are typically beige. I'd like the push button gearstick from one of these, blue would be awesome but typically this interior is brown being a series 1. These boxes use the same vacuum system as the locking centre diff AWD box. Easy way to tell them apart is the PT4wd box locking lever pivots above the arm, the AWD box pivots under the arm.
Cheers

No problem. I picked up an almost new windscreen rubber off the sedan, and some chrome trim for it off the Brumby.

The long dash in that first Touring Wagon - cracked?
If it is cracked, small little ones or the typical big one through the centre/parallel to the vehicle?
I'm chasing one (or two - one for a mate) of these at the moment! What would it cost to get this out of the yard? And did the red sedan have the long dash?
I so need to visit this yard! I'd be pulling power windows, centre console, dash, intermittent wipers - all the good stuff to pimp out a brumby!
If anyone can help out with securing that dash please get in contact with me
Regards
Bennie

And well you might, as I DID get the analogue dash out of the sedan a few weeks ago. However I'll let you know that there is this beige at Elizabeth ATM.Silverbullet wrote:I'll be going this weekend hopefully, let me know what you wantThat is unless someone else beats me to it during the week (Geoff I'm looking in your direction

Unfortunately , as we discussest tonight on the phone, that grey dash at Lonsdale is essentially falling apart and cracked to all buggery
Also unfortunately Elizabeth just crushed the red tourer that I wanted the auto box out of. I'm happy to pay a spotters fee, or to pay + add toss in an selection of my 13,14 and 15" alloys/sunnies/mags for a MY auto box. ... just saying....
there also a 4 post MY /Burmby bull bar at Elizabeth ( upull it price is $109)

Oh just realised that photo of the L series with sunrasia's wheels was posted back in May... anyone know if the wheels are still there on that L series? as was going to go for a drive on Saturday (200 km round trip) but may not if they have gone, tried ringing u-pull it to ask them and received a rude wake up response from them
pedroj wrote:hmmm those wheels look nice on that L series..
yes they are still there, now piled up in a barrow, I think that 2 of them need to have a gutter bump rolled out of them, which may be why whoever put them in the barrow left them there.pedroj wrote:Oh just realised that photo of the L series with sunrasia's wheels was posted back in May... anyone know if the wheels are still there on that L series? as was going to go for a drive on Saturday (200 km round trip) but may not if they have gone, tried ringing u-pull it to ask them and received a rude wake up response from them
Hi Henpecked, saw them there on Saturday morning in the barrow, quite rusty and many dings in the rims, so left them for some one else
Did pick up a few odd bits but in all honesty for me I get better value and choice from Subawreck, which is also a lot closer to home (Barossa)
Looks like it is time to seek some new ones.
