(14 days and countin WOOO)

thats my story. whats yours? share your animal-hitting stories (people are animals, but for the sake of lawsuits, DON'T say a word)

Hit two at once one evening coming back home from a long trip through the bush, driving down a tar road in a State Forests pine plantation.

Probably doing 110 when I saw them, hit the brakes (probably a bit too hard) but kept my nerve and didn't swerve. Both had just landed when I collected them. Only damage was too the front apron, which I ended up removing that weeek anyway!
Monster Subaru sold to a good home!! Still a Subaru owner. Will try stay in the Ausubaru loop. Sorry

Just missed a roo yesterday. Out on a club trip going about 80km's, veered left to miss a car., line up for the narrow bridge, then Skippy jumps out from the left. Good thing is he kept going. If I hit him the Brumby would have been toast.

hit a few roos over the years......
yah! for a sturdy bar out front...not much damage...
front bonnet dent, and never fixed it, and
part of the number plate is wrapped under the bar tho;)

mostly avoided now at night, by having corner lights to light the sides...
having just beams on is simply inviting roos to jump in front.

I to have hit many a roo. Glade that you and the car are relatively unscaved.
Toyota 105 Series LandCruiser (that nobody on here wants to really hear about).
RX Touring Wagon - fitted out for 4WDing (currently collecting dust).
RX Project - will be road only at this stage (and currently taking way to long to finish).

When dad was a wee bit younger, he had an old holden, and he made up this big a$$ farm gate for the front.

One day him and a mate of his were out on one of the country roads and he saw rain clouds ahead.

Now anyone knows you dont stop when you mix rain and blacksoil in the same sentence...and what was he on........blacksoil.

He told his mate to keep an eye out for animals......

About 10km's from bitumen, (doing in the vacinity of fast) his mate calls out PIIIGS.

Dad curses and puts his foot down cos he wasnt stopping.

He looked over at the pigs, and they were heading in his direction.

He got every single pig (about 15). His bullbar was more related to a banana after that, but if he hadnt have had it on, they would have been sitting in mud for a loong time.

The scratchings so far -
Countless rabbits
6 pigeons
3 roos
1 goat
1 duck
And a Brahman bull.
And the only one that put a dent in the car was the Duck! Flew in between the spotties and top bar of the bullbar and hit the bonnet.
The missus also hit a roo last week in the hilux. No damage though. I think the bullbars have paid for themselves already.

Hit a kookaburra a couple of years ago. Driving out to Boonah, the kookaburra was eating at a bit of road kill on the road. Saw me approach, started to fly up, didn't quite clear the top of the bullbar, got him with the spotlights.
They always say you are what you eat, that must be true.

Was a passenger in my ol mans Prado a few years back, an a fat roo jumped out in front. Dad sped up, cause he is mad, and the roo went under, hit the bash plate, was knocked sideways into the right hand side Hub, and was extruded through the blade-style mag wheel!!! All we saw was a stream of guts and fur billowing from the side of the car. lol. Made a damn mess of the under body and side of the car, but was funny at the time. It completely munted the roo, as all that was left intact was a leg and tail stuck in the brake calliper, and on the axle.
The stench that caught us later was horrific though lol.
