CV's are knockin.

my cvs are startin to knock.

why? what specifically causes them to knock?

how much are they for my car?

how do i change them?

They wear out, simple as that. Typically it's the bearing race on the outer joint that wears down. Harder driving causes them to wear out quicker, as does operation at greater angles (like having a suspension lift). Price for your car will vary - if you budget on $150ea for brand new ones you will probably be ok.

Alternatively you can swap them left-to-right and get a few more kays out of them.

if you are a beginner, perhaps get yourself a gregorys manual, a 36mm socket in 3/4" drive, a 3/4" breaker bar and pipe handle extension from scrap yard or metal merchant, a jack, stand and 5mm pin punch, 10,12,14 and 17mm sockets.

It can also be an opportune time to regrease the front bearings
