WA BBQ - Part II

Post by BlackMale » Tue Sep 12, 2006 5:19 pm

I have realised that it may be a little unfair of me to dictate what the entire crew should do so thought that this may be a little more diplomatic, what do you all think… just be aware that I choose to bitch and wine about the outcome should I not like it LOL

Sorry at this stage i have not included venues/location… I am also open to suggestions just do not be offended if your desitnation is not selected.
Toyota 105 Series LandCruiser (that nobody on here wants to really hear about).
RX Touring Wagon - fitted out for 4WDing (currently collecting dust).
RX Project - will be road only at this stage (and currently taking way to long to finish).

I should say "A day of SERIOUS 4WDing, not requiring the use of a D/R box". LOL.

If my car's ready, then I suppose option 2.

Yeah i recon 2... people want to be able to drive there cars home. Our version of Serious offroading has steadily increased over the years and only eased off when one of our fine members rolled his car.

Subarino I would not say that you stuffed it up however it was not the best was to end a trip - still you got some video and a snokel out of it - oh and i would think that the hard core factor has not decreased since the roll and your submarine efforts its just that we have not been out as a group.

I have some day trips in mind however like last year will make the trip a "mystery" to add to the suspence - more details to follow. I do not think that it will be a new trip like last year but i am thinking of a few trips that only some of us have done (thats the only clue).

Are we wanting to do our day on the same WKD as the Qld 1 (again like last year?

Oh and subgiraffe give me a call we'll get you lifted and LSD'ed before the trip even if we have to change it later.

We will still need to be made aware of the terrain to expect though.

I have now realised I have stuffed up, I wasnt sure of the w/e date, as I didnt see it in any posts (have now found it in QLD section), as I have agreed months back to help out a National bike comp in WA that w/e.:(
Would suit me if it was on another w/e, I know I will be in the minority on that one. I really want to go to the WA BBQ.

Sorry crew my BIG head has been flat out.

I may have to talk to someone who is going on this trip to discuss/ hand over the lead duties. My initial thoughts, despite his complete hatred of trip control would be Subarino as I know that he had done part of the trip before – I bet this is hurting ugly head trying to think about where this might be. Reason for this is that I have to change a diff bush as ours is totally flogged out – I have the new bush. While I am there I should change the rear suspension over in addition to this I also have to check to see how my RHS cv is going as the boot is on the way out, and if its split at all then this will need to be done as well (I have the boots/grease/clips). The rear end is not a major job however I have half my tool packed and no decent space to work atm due to the recent move. So I am not going to know until the date gets closer.

Hints include:
- Will require at least 1 full tank of go juice.
- Will need to travel on tarmac before reaching our destination.
- As per the poll Option 2, although the hard stuff is somewhat limited.
- Terrain will involve some ball-bearing gravel and fast wide roads which are great for sideways action, there are also at least 1 short steep low range crawl which is bound to bag Mattims and those with the incorrect line, from memory there is no granny track however its not that hard.
- Regardless of the wether we will be going – trip can be done in the wet.
- More hints and a meeting place to come.
Toyota 105 Series LandCruiser (that nobody on here wants to really hear about).
RX Touring Wagon - fitted out for 4WDing (currently collecting dust).
RX Project - will be road only at this stage (and currently taking way to long to finish).
