Again! Again! Romeo road take two...

Post by AndrewT » Sat Oct 21, 2006 12:39 am

We had so much fun last week (as you can probably tell from Lapsed's video) that we are going to go again this week.
For those of you who don't know Romeo road is north of the river not quite as far up at Pippidini. The main "play arena" is very close to the road and there are heaps of other areas to explore.
Beachy sand dunes, plenty of awesome hill climb challenges.

Confirmed so far...
Me - AndrewT
D3V1L - Dave
90subiwgn - Alex
Subi - Matt

Meet at Matt's place in Duncraig at about 12 noon on Sunday 22nd.
If we get more people we might have to meet at a servo - Matt's front yard aint a massive carpark.

Might have to get u to teach me how to use one of them sticks with the string on it sometime Alex... used to love fishing when i was 10... haven't grown since then but i grew out of fishing. Love to get back into it.

Would give me an excuse to put a fishing rod holder on the hatch too.

I don't think your aloud to camp at White hills from what i know. Your espcailly not aloud to venture off into the dunes.

Whats the fishing like near Wedge??? I think our favourite Super Cheap employee might have a good place we can camp out that way.

Isn't the military blowing stuff up at Wedge? I heard they were re-opening it as a munitions testing area.

Can't put a time frame on when I'll be out 4wding with you guys. Just working on a few more tricks to put in the wagon, as well as working out a few EJ stumbling blocks!
When its finally going I'll be in everything - 4wding, fishing, camping you name it!

wedge isnt closed off at all. just past lancelin-on the way - there is a navy fence that closes off a huge area periodically for weapons/bomb testing, u can always go around tho.
yeh my family and a few others own a pretty good (for wedge) shack up there. when it gets a bit warmer i plan to go up there for like a week. but yeh ill arrange shit later, i know people will be interested.

on a seperate note:

the trip today was good fun- we tackled almost every steep hill in the romeo rd area and surrounds, and there was much showing off by andrew again as he got up everything first time....and...er....no-one else could follow him:(
id be keen to try out some more of those hills in the pipidinni play area thing next time tho.

Yes another fun trip.
Highlight for me was conquering that long climb in the big play area. So many times I tried in the old wagon and only ever made it 3/4 of the way.

Time for more mods now...
- Replace oil filter which got punctured by my awesome bash plate
- Fit second thermo fan to stop annoying boiling problem!
