What a dip stick. He just cost Lowndes the championship. Doesn't he know he now drives for Ford Not Holden.
He is making Skaife look good. Idiot.

yes Lowndes hasnt lost yet but Bright was being an ASSSSS by not letting Lowndes by. yes he had straight line speed but it was his driving miss daisy braking efforts that was seeing the front runners disappear in the distance.

The Holden drivers were acting in the best interest to the driver that had the most advantage. Bright was acting like a sore loser. Not letting a fellow Ford driver, with alot more to gain, pass and show him how to really drive. Go back to Holden Bright, you showed your true colours yesterday, then at least you won't be hiding under Ford colours and pretending.

Hiding under Ford colours and pretending? Your forgetting that Bright won Bathurst in a Ford in 1998

Never liked him then and definately don't like him now. Yes you are in the race to win, but if you have no chance and a fellow team member(even if it is not your imediate team) has a better chance. Isn't it the sportsmanship thing to do, and help him out. Then for Lowndes to get black flagged for going straight through the chicane. Damm stupid. Had he gone through the correct way he would have taken out Russell and caused more damage. As they said he had to correct the order of positions, which he did. But does he have to come to a standing stop to let Russell catch up. I am a big fan of Russells, more than Lowndes, but Russell had to give it more grunt to get into his correct position. Not make Lowndes slow down and let other cars have the advantage of passing as well. If they run over grass on the other tracks, do they get a black flag. I think not. I bet it's a holden lover that make the rules. Bring on Tassie.

yeah the race controllers certainly made the wrong call. I know Colin Bond drove Holdens, not sure about where Wollerman and Schenken are from! haha. Speaking of a lack of co-operation between ford drivers - I seem to remember an incident between Lowndes and Ambrose a few years ago. I wish Ambrose was still about - he certainly livened the show up a bit

And that Lowndes once drove for Holden that allowed him to be in the position he is today... Or are we convienently forgetting this Subiwidow?

No we are not forgetting his previous ride the fact that Holden have the young lions and Ford do not have a similar thing to promote and encourage young drivers is more the reason why he started at Holden but once he had opportunity he switched and has stayed with Ford

Actually when Lowndes drove for Holden, I said back then that he was dirty driver. But the fact was he was sacrificed to give Skaffie better positions. Lowndes took out The Rat I think it was. Spun the Ford out, got a $5000 fine, and Skaiffe drove on passed and went on to win Big Money. They were dirty tack ticks but they worked. Like the races when Ambrose and Russell were in. They worked as a team, Russell was the space maker and Ambrose took the advantage and got results. Russell was even on the radio saying this. All I am saying is if Bright was only thinking of one person out there and that was himself, and at this late stage in the championship, he was in the WRONG.

Anyone got access to lap times for the event? I couldn't find them. Point of interest is:

Did Russel slow down so Craig would appear to be breaching rules? It would be in Russells best interest to do so because it would close the gap to his own 4th place in the championship.....

IMO - A race is a race. I want to see the drivers race and may the best man (or machine) win.
Subaru RX Turbo (engine out AGAIN!)
Ford XF Panelvan EEC-IV (rusting)
Ford Escort RS1800 GP4 (in pieces)
Van Diemen RF89 (Sold, finished and racing)
Softride Powerwing 650 (working fine)
