Exhaust valve

Post by Brumby Boy » Mon Dec 25, 2006 9:39 pm

Hay all, my cousin is lookig at a 85/6ish brumby for 500 bucks in fairly good condition, but it does have a burnt out exhaust valve, so my question is, how hard is it to replace a burnt out valve on an ea81? or is it just as easy to do an ej swap?

VRS kit cost me about $50-65, valves around $10-20 ea plus valve grinding and a bit of labour. Nothing to hard about it. Dropping the head off is easy on an EA81 basically just unbolt everything in the way, and bolt back up when you are done, no timing or anything to stress about except the valve to rocker clearances when it all goes back together.

The place to get the valves is down the end of the road on the right where the ford and holden wreckers are beside each other can't think of the name. And the VRS kit i got through Cheap Auto Spares. I got a Protorque VRS kit and haven't had any dramas with it, includes everything and then some.
