Box jammed in 5th
Box jammed in 5th
EJ22 5spd AWD gearbox in an MY Touring wagon. I was sitting in the car shifting through the gears with the clutch in and the engine not running. When I got fifth there was no way it was coming back out. Tried a few things but it is firmly stuck. This was probably the first time it has been put into fifth in this car (not yet driveable). Any deas why its stuck or how to get it out?
ps. had taken box apart to put L series stub axles in to achieve the appropriate number of splines

Yeah definitely check linkages.
Wow thats an interesting approach regarding splines...most people just swap the inner cups to suit whatever gearbox is going in.

still stuck
More info - its still jammed in 5th. It has NOT picked up 2 gears as it still moves. The linkages aren't stuck on anything. It feels like the selector mechanism. Any more ideas or do we just have to take it all out again ???
Tks
