how to drain gearbox oil?
how to drain gearbox oil?
L series 4wd dual ratio. Is there supposed to be a drain bolt/plug or something to drain the oil? I looked and didn't see anything too obvious ..maybe just too much gunk there.....
and whats the best way to re-fill? via the dip stick or is there a easier way?
Thanks

Gotta wonder what the subie designers were on when they made that.......... It seems all but hard to put a cap on the trans.BaronVonChickenPants wrote:and yeah dip stick tube is the only way to fill it back up.
On my 4 speed D/R there was a bolt right behind where the front diff is(?) And I filled it with a carboard funnel thru the dip stick hole.

Just be thankful that there's a tube there to fill it up through.
On my Toyota, I've got to remove the reverse light switch on top of the box & then get a tube down past the huge battery, air intake, A/C lines,...
