I must say the rain would have been a welcome site had it actually fallen in the dams rather than follow us around the beaches. Other than the rain it was a greta day for cruising around. Thousands of people up there over the Easter break had made it quite boggy and churned up.
We counted 8 vehicles bogged in the time we were there and not one of them was a Subaru. I can pretty muc garantee that every one of them was a soccer mum's car that was having it's first off road trip.
A quick note just to show how good the Subarus go on the beach. I let my daughter drive on the beach for the first time ever yesterday. They very first place I let her drive was through 250m of soft sand at the mouth of the Noosa river. I then let her drive along the beach to the first cuttingwhere most cars get stuck, then made her drive up it; 3 times and all of them with out even looking like getting stuck.
One time I had her crawling up the track at about 3-5k's an hour to show her you don't need to go fast to get up there when a "proper" 4wd hit the track at about 50-60k's an hour just to make sure he got up it. Idiots.
Any way, who has all the pics? Post them up.
BTW, don't forget to use the gallery. http://www.ausubaru.com/coppermine/

I still prefer the manual. The auto made it no easier going up the cutting on the way home. Last time we went up it Grant followed us up in his car at the same crawling speed.
I do now have a heating issue with the auto. Never had any troubles with the car getting hot as a manual. I do with the auto. Nothing major but they obviously work harder when auto.
