1991 Subaru L series enduro wagon--3" lift, kings, gabriels front with kybs back (no longer kybs back due to strut plates breaking at wedge), cb, .... Future mods are a pipedream at the moment due to money issues.
I really should start thinking of making a picture for my sig

NA motors are easy to do
Needed is a motor and harness $1000
Adaptor Plate $150
Surge Tank $100
Fuel Pump and Filter $200
Modified flywheel $150
Exhaust $200
I can't remember what I paid for each bit individually, but the numbers I have put are approx what would be paid.
The only piece of work that I farmed out when I did my last conversion was the power steering hydraulics and the exhaust. The PS stuff was done by a mobile hydraulics guy who basically worked side by side with me to machine up and solder the parts to do the job. I think I paid about $30 for the hour he was with me.
Buy the wiring harness cd of ebay and cut everything that doesn't go into the ecu out of the harness
Buy a piece of 12 or 16mm aluminium plate and cut the adaptor plate with a jigsaw.
Surge Tank, Fuel Pump and Filter can be purcahsed from ebay.
Modified Flywheel - I did this the bodgy method, ie drilled out the holes to make them big enough to line up on the EJ right. The dollar value I put up is to get it done a little more accurately by a engineering shop on a mill.
Other bits and pieces of wiring, fittings etc would in no way add up to more than $500.

custom dual core radiator will have to get made up too. 4muff and i payed abit too much at $500, you will also need some decent thermo fan(s).

Standard EA82 clutch sat behind my EJ20 NA motor. I'd rather have a clutch as the weakest link than a gearbox! Not that a 92kw engine is giving that much grief to a L gearbox...
Bigger radiator isn't that much a necessity, not all EJ's have mega radiators, just a decent single core will do the job. I had a pair of super cheap thermos still laying around that I used, thats why I forgot to include...

i paid about that when i got mine modded, but i had to fork out the cost of a new radiator first, so all up mine cost me about 850:) but if you can mod the radiator in your car now you'll be looking from 400 to 50090subiewgn wrote:custom dual core radiator will have to get made up too. 4muff and i payed abit too much at $500, you will also need some decent thermo fan(s).
