Hiclone Fuel savers

Hey has anyone ever put those hiclone fuel saving devices into their suba's?

Are they worth it or has anyone ever considered them?

I know they work good on both petrols and diesels and they reckon they u get better fuel economy and an increase of power

Just wondering on what people think of them

Couldn't be more skeptical - Why aren't car manufacturers using them?

Wait until a well respected auto or performance mag does a test and see what the results are.

From what i have heard they work wonders on diesel engines but have heard very little about thier virtues on the petrol motors

yeah i heard the same about how they work wonders on diesels jack sparrow.

so i guess no one has put them on a suba

my bro inlaw says thet scania has been using em for 30 years but never heard of em in a subaru

I know a machine shop owner reckons his car club members get results

Pulled a few out of Diesels on turbo and/or intercooler installs and no one has ever asked for them to reinstalled. Guessing the power/economy increase as a result of the install no one thinks to ask and too much of a pain in the arse to reinstall for no extra money

not convinced of the vaporate thing either,
they're saying that an injector doesn't get hot enough to vaporise fuel?

Interesting stuff who knows if it would work , were would you fit the thing on an L-Series? Would you have to change from the standard air box setup to something else?

For something that may/maynot work, sure asking for much money...
couldn't be that hard to make a fixed swirl device like this outa sheet Aluminium.....will have to give it a go

They have and they did net more power. Not much but it was around what they are claiming. It was a good 8 years back when I read it so don't ask me to find it.

I looked into it a while back when they first came out.
Theres a thread on http://www.xt6.net about flow directions and theorys in air and fluids that makes interesting reading.
By causing the air to swirl you add energy and unifority to the mix.
The principle is sound i cant say if the aplication is the same but anything is worth a try.

i have heard that these things do make a difference but only if they are install BETWEEN the air filter and throat of the carby etc ,that is in the tubing itself.
I therefore cant see it making any impression on a standard l series air box/filter as the only place it count be installed is between the air intake box in the guard and before the air filter box . Any increase in velocity /vortex induce by the hiclone would probably be disrupted and dissipated by the the time the air flow worked its way through the standard air filter box . For those guys that have removed the standard air filter and using ram filters with tubing straight to the carby, possibly???

For those with L's the Hiclone goes inside the air filter box, sitting right over the carby.

We are selling them, and have several customers waiting on their first orders. I am also installing one on my stock L - EA82. I will post the outcome on this forum.

For the skeptics, this is no new gimick. It has and is being used in new vehicles now - particularly the later Mercedes models. Proven physics, proven results. It was tested by 4x4 Australia a few years ago and they gave it the big tick.
