this includes say paying $60 for the CV band tightening tool which some may think a little excessive, but makes the job a finger injury potential job so quick and easy. the right tool for the right job sorta stuff.

to start it off

$15 for a used 3/4" breaker bar
$5 cheapy 36mm 3/4" socket
$40 ALDI open end ring ratchet spanner set missing 12mm size?!
$21 cash flexible head 12mm open end ring ratchet spanner GASWELD
$40 1/4" socket set
$6 aerial style magnetic pick up tool
$6 aerial style mirror
LED torches
and a borrowed chain block tackle
new set of open end ring spanners
and various loose metric spannes of different lengths, new or used.

and the best...8, 10 and 12mm t bar style socket wrench that have a long tube socket on a 300mm long shaft with a T at the top - all one piece.
$5 each at a field day , shoulda bought a 14mm too!

Using these buggers everywhere

i love my sidchrome "big fella", its longer than a standard breaker bar, but has a ratcheting head on it..works awesome

Not me... but a mate of mine has a socket welded onto a CV joint axle. Makes me laugh everytime he uses it. Im sure most of the WA guys could guess who this would be.

A hint... someone that welds CV cups back together instead of replacing them.

The tool of champions. Have to agree Dave this thing is a weapon (and has does the job every time).

Not sure about my best tool but lets face it with only 2” of lift (and the lowered RX) it would have to be the might trolley jack I could not do without.

I would have to say 18mm Long hex socket and long socket bar thingy is the most used and made the most difference in ease of changing wheels. Its heell better than those crossbar things which are a PITA and back.

Another very useful tool i got for electrical troubleshooting, it has 2 leds, and can indicate direct to +12V or 0V OR via a impedance/resistance to +12V or 0V - very handy for finding a bum connection that will seemingly indicate ok, but is no good once current passes through the connection, ie POOR ground or 12V connections.

Aside from all that my most useful/used tool has to be the 1kg persuader.

so far.. the $28 sidchrome 21mm pass-on-to-grandkids

the makita drill that helped me drill out the core of a stuck bolt so i could bolt my freshly-panel beaten front guard back on. same one my dad's had for the last 20 years, but brand new. another one for the grandkids.

pocket stubby 4 tip screwdriver i've had for the last 10 years.

best oens would be the ratchet spanners both metric and imperial (never seen anyone else with imperials)
theres heaps of spanners in general but it only goes up to 21 mm metric.
and the screwdrivers coz i use em so much

(my old man was a mechanic so i have claimed his tools)

I admire the ones I made myself for "special applications", maybe use once only, but duplicate the factory special tool either as a copy or just in function. They get the job done with a bit of ingenuity.
Like my McPherson strut nut tool I made for my wifes old car, A flywheel torque holder for undoing the flywheel nut on my bike, A slotted bolt extension T-Bar that holds the lower leg of a front fork on a bike from turning to separate the leg.

soft faced ? as in copper, plastic or leather? I use a rubber mallet, actually three different grades of violence. Given the price of copper, $9000 a ton, only rich boys and thieves will get to own one in the future !!
