Pressure sensor & Exchange solenoid info needed - PLEASE !!

Post by Fury » Thu Jul 19, 2007 5:02 pm

I have been having a few engine running problems, that have resulted in many codes being thrown on my EJ20G. I have located and replaced a couple of things including a new TPS, but it is now throwing just 1 code:

code 45 - Pressure Sensor or Exchange Solenoid

I have never had this come up before and no idea where they are located on the engine or what they do - let alone fixing them.:???:

I figured it is around the idle switch area, as there was a problem in this area as well, but I am not familiar with the parts or names. ( engine was running with no probs when installing, so no need to know everything until I needed to I guess)

Has anyone come across this / these before and are they adjustable, or just have to replace them ?

I have done a search, but nothing seems to come up in the forum threads, but will refine the searches a bit more.

I also have downloaded the manual, but so far no luck in finding the things in there.

I am not sure , but I assumed that the pressure sensor was only on auto transmissions - so does this mean that the Exchange solenoid is instead of the pressure sensor?

any help or comments are appreciated,

cheers,
Chris

The pressure sensor is the brown solonoid located on the DS shock tower near the Ignitor and has the boost controller on the same bracket
