Possible Trip- Ben Lomond Area

Post by legacytt » Thu Aug 16, 2007 10:33 am

Anyone keen for an offroad trip in the North East?. There are a number of good tracks I know but too rough to tackle by myself as there are a couple of potential places for a severe bogging. Also a good steep climb up to the Ben Lomond/Ragged Jack Saddle which I did in my old lifted Touring Wagon.

The tracks I am thinking of would require lift and good tyres. Timing wise I was thinking early November? Could finish up at my place for a BBQ and you can all try out a few tracks I have at home.

Count me in!

BBQ is a great idea, weather should be more hospitable by then as well.
Might we be blessed with the presence of the WBII?

How about the last weekend in October for everyone? Mid Nov is likely to be out for me as work gets busy.

Lets dust this off a little,

Late October is good for me, as is nearly any weekend provided the wagon is operational....

Ben, can we expect the beige hornet to be in action on this one?

Macca, your lift is awaiting you, no excuses!

Trent, your lift should be sort, maybe not the rest of the shopping list though!
Might be able to borrow Adz'z rims n tyres of the sedan for the w/end

Ben Lomond

Post by legacytt » Sat Sep 22, 2007 3:49 pm

How about the 27-28 October. We can either meet at Launceston and travel To Ben Lomond/Ragged Jack area and traverse through to Rossarden. If we did this in reverse we could meet at Conara and finish at Launceston. I discovered some good tracks around Rossarden which I would like to check out as potential Mountain Bike tracks. One I am toldtraverses along the length of Ben Lomond and up over the Ragged Jack Saddle. I know of a hut on Ben lomond that we could use. very rustic but good to cook in and camp around.
