Exhaust Flange Bolt
New brumby had a stripped exhaust flange bolt where it inserts into the head.
Brainstormed at work about fixit ideas and had all sorts of recommendations regarding helicoils and chemical putty from rev head co workers. Went to Ausubaru forum and got some good ideas.
However I went to local muffler shop in Toowoomba and they were real good. Cut the flange and turned it around to access the other two bolt holes in the head. Also made and fitted new engine pipe from there around to the other flange while they were into it. Whilst on the hoist, catalyctic converter was found to be on the way out so they inserted new one for me...I thought it was good service and a good result for what would always have been a suspect flange bolt. Cost...about $350 bucks... $$$:???:$$$

this is stolen from anderw T from a different thread
EA81 heads r like EA82 ones in the sense they have two alternate threads for exhaust bolts at opposite sides to where they are now?
If so all you need to do is cut off the end of the header pipe fairly close to the head and rotate it 180degrees and we-weld.
Otherwise maybe re-tap for a larger thread size.
