Favourable product review

Post by julian » Wed Sep 19, 2007 12:03 am

I wanted to let people know of a product whose performance I was very impressed by.
The bushes on the front end of my car had been getting a bit squeeky after some wet days, then drying out over winter. It had gotten to the point of really creaking and squeeking when I went over any sizeable bump.
I used a lanolin spray (called Lanotec I think, not sure as it isn't in front of me) that I picked up from Coventry fastners the other day. For those that don't know lanolin is a non-reactive wax type product derived from sheeps wool. A quick spray on both sides of all front end bushes and not a noise can be heard, even over large bumps. Put it on 2 weeks ago and still no noise.
It won't degrade the bush material, is waterproof and is so easy to put on as opposed to removing the bush and greasing. Cheap too.
By the way, I have no interest financial or otherwise in this product, just passing on some valuable information.

That stuff is addictive, you find more uses for it than you think. I lubricated my sectional roller door hinges, chain, spring etc, now its super quiet and rust prevented!
I found water was getting sucked up under the rear wagon rubber seal causing the start of a rust spot to appear. Dried it out and coated the area in Lanotec, seems to drive the water out too. Might pull the door skins off one day and spray all the inside panels too with it, yeah better than fish oil.
Can get this stuff in aerosol or liquid, found Bunnings stock it too.
