Rims for a 91 brumby

Post by Robbo78 » Mon Sep 03, 2007 3:33 pm

Hi guys,
I've got a 91 brumby with stock standards steel rims and am looking for a set of white sunrasia ones secondhand. 1) are they easy to come across? and 2) if I find a 91 wagon with the ones I like at the wrieckers will they fit my ute?

You'll be lucky to find Sunraysia's second-hand (except through eBay), but generic "L" series 13" rims are pretty common. I know of a handful in wreckers here at the moment.

I would highly recommend 14" Pug's (from a 504) or similar for on-road use - the handling with standard 13" rims is horrible compared to 14", especially in the back-end through corners at speed  My local wreckers had some 14" pugs recently as well.

All MY and L are interchangable (well, except MY standard wheels won't fit on the front of L series due to clearance issues), so any L series or earlier will bolt straight up and shouldn't have an offset problem.

Dean.

It so happens that I have some original Subie white spoke steel 13" steel rims that you're asking about that came with my 91 L-series. I don't need them.
'91 Sportswagon - 3" lifted, 14" speedys, 27" Nankangs + lots of small details improved. Wouldn't mind some extra grunt from an EJ.

Another option is mabey a set of Speedy Desert Rats (they apparently fit straigh on the the Brumby 4 stud Pattern)
