Rear Lsd to front???

Post by Cam » Tue Oct 02, 2007 4:56 pm

Are the front and rear centres the same in ej models? Would it be possible to put a rear lsd centre in the front? just that i'm about to put my box in and whilst it out i might aswell upgrade it. Saw some cheap lsd rear diffs somewhere...

No they are different

You might be able to do something very expensively if you can find an engineering co to do one off jobs.

Some STi boxes have front LSD's, this would be your best bet.

There are some aftermarket companies that make front LSD's for ej boxes

OBX-R Helical is one that is mentioned on the American Subaru site

Have a read of this http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/sho ... hp?t=49241

According to this, you can also use the same diff in a L series gearbox
Current rides: 2016 Mitsubishi Triton GLS & 2004 Forester X
Ongoing Project/Toy: 1987 RX Turbo EA82T, Speeduino ECU, Coil-pack ignition, 440cc Injectors, KONI adjustale front struts, Hybrid L Series/ Liberty AWD 5sp
Past rides: 92 L series turbo converted wagon, 83 Leone GL Sedan, 2004 Liberty GT Sedan & 2001 Outback

Nah wont work - again you'll need engineer to machine the rear diff - too pricey - i've already thought of that.
