Is it just me or do these look exactly like the stud pattern for L/MY series subarus...

i think it was asked a while ago, and i THINK it was a slightly different stud pattern. I doubt the offest would be the same too..

how come they use that pattern? Is it to do with changing 4 bolts is quicker than 5, or is it just crazy prodrive shafts?

they are 4 stud to suit the prodrive hubs used on the rally cars. they wont fit the early subies

yeh like that would ever be an option though...
if proper sti wheels could be afforded, an l-series would not be being driven

Bug eye STi's were notorius for shearing the hubs off in high speed cambered corners, this would be the Prodrive solution for stopping this - custom **** off big hubs, complete with grease nipple for the bearings
