my brumby kepts over reving when pushing the clutch in.it's getting worse and worse. i'm confused as to wat would make it do this could it be timing also when the car gets hot the car kepts running for 20sec after the key is turned off. any suggestion wat may be causing this.

I don't know how the car could be over-revving when you use the clutch. Some ideas maybe:

- return spring broken
- need a new throttle cable - the one you have may be frayed inside the casing, causing friction when you take your foot off the pedal to change gears. See what happens when stationary after depressing the throttle pedal.
- you've got a crazy brumby...

As for the running after you've turned it off. This is called dieseling. I'm guessing the engine doesn't run very well and makes some bad rattling noises as it does so.
If this is the case, you have carbon deposits on the pistons and cylinder chamber. These get hot, glow red, and after you've turned the ignition off they act as a very poor spark plug (also badly timed, this is why it makes all the noise).
Get the carbie checked out for tuning, it may be running rich - too much fuel into the engine is good at creating carbon deposits...
Try running a higher octane fuel - you'll have to adjust your timing to get the best performance out of it but should stop the dieseling. The other option would be to run some engine cleaner stuff through your fuel to clean out the carbon deposits...

See what else others say, but i'm guessing its one or two of these for both problems.

Sounds like you need to do an upper engine clean and the timing is also out a bit. You should also check to see that the throttle slow return is set correctly

If your throttle isnt returning to the stop when you take your foot off the throttle it will also cause the engine to run on, as it is still drawing fuel into the manifold past a throttle butterfly that isnt shut properly.
On another angle,mine was doing this and it turned out that the carby linkage for the accelerator pump was rubbing on one the vaccum pipes that are located near it, and a simple bend of the pipe was all that was needed.

thanx guys for the input i'm soon to put a weber on the car and does that upper engine stuff from subaru stop the carbon build up.
