Post by Xtreme_RX » Tue Oct 30, 2007 6:41 pm

FINALLY I have pictures!

After long hard testing, extensive design & fabrication & lots of trials & errors I now have a final product! I am still to work a final price on the exhaust.
The base flange for the mounting of the turbo suits the early VF2/4 AND the latter VF8/10/12 etc. It is made form 302 Stainless steel.

Don't mind the oil on the cam case its from the power steering pump......

So does that both types fit on the one flange, or there are 2 flange types to choose from?

VF8/10/12 must mean it will fit TD04 and TF035 types as well.

Cool.

Most interesting .

For the uninformed (me) can someone spell out the differences between the EA turbos and the early Lib/Impreza ones . Gee has spoken about using the 1G RS's turbo inside the EA RXT exhaust housing so these must be the same turbo family (same turbine) but with a slightly larger compressor and housing . He said you can't use the RS's turbine housing because the mount flange pattern is different and doesn't bolt up .

So , it sounds like with this header the Lib RS turbocharger could bolt up and the better collector design make a better overall result or no worse than std anyway .

Most people would'nt go to the expense of an IHI BB turbo but if the pipes were seperate all the way to the flange an IHI twin scroll VF38 could be used and I reckon that would make a very torquey and responsive EA82T .

Bring it on , cheers A .

It fits both types on the one flange.......

BUT beware on fitting the later VF series of turbos... You will need to rotate the turbo base to clear the steering extension arm.......

looks like im gonna need something like this as my std pipe/headers have split in two! its under the heat shield so i didnt see it but wondering about the huge leak and f/a spoolage. ive got the zorst shop to weld it back together. he said he might be able to make the ****ty up-pipe the same size as the headers later on tho whichd be good.
