now I miss mine even more...

I swapped in an ej20g and fitted a FMIC... wasn't as well hidden as you're going for but it worked... had to run the fans in front of the radiator because of space issues...

I also did some research on suspension setup... I came to the conclusion that the best choice was to swap in front impreza or legacy suspension and brakes...

this way you will get better handling and suspension, MUCH better braking power and you will get a 5 stud bolt pattern which will open up a much wider rim market... another bonus is the fact that you won't have to modify driveshafts if you decide to go with ej gearbox... :)

I found a site where a guy swapped in coilovers both front and rear on his L-series wagon... front mod was as I described above but the rear was much easier and required minor work... sorry, don't remember the site...

you say you're ready to invest time and money in the project... so I guess this would be by far the best way to go...

Mate, soooo many people would kill for this information, namely the rear end conversion as I think most people have got the front sorted...
