Exhaust for ea82 carby

Post by Suby Roo » Wed Nov 14, 2007 10:37 pm

Im looking to upgrade the exhaust on my suby as this one leaks a little and isnt the greatest. im also looking for a bit of a note to go with it. The only problem is that last time i messed with my exhaust i got booked by the cops for excessive noise. i took the back muffler out and welded a bit of two inch pipe to it. i got defected and had to put the muffler back in.

What would be the best size for performance and sound??

cheers, Jarrod.

I had 2 1/4" from the cat back with a hotdog in the middle and a sports muffler on the end.

Boxer sound but low volume. Never been hassled by cops

agreed...i had 2.5in put on the wagon with the old carby motor....was friggn loud and sounded very nice for a carby, but i think i lost a tad of power, and fuel economy..

The system i just got sounds real nice...
2.25 with just a berklee sports muffler. Nice note. Not too loud and no drone when at highway speeds which i was worried about.
When you put your foot down it can really sing though (as much as a 1.8L carby'd car can sing)
