Hi all
Pulled apart an ea82t today and snapped a head bolt ,it snapped flush with the block.
Whats the best way to remove?

Thats unusual, usually the head bolt will come out and worse thing they do is sometimes drag the thread out with it. Anyway. Spray on some penetrine and let soak. After an hour or so centre punch the remaining head bolt and drill all the way though with a 5mm drill or there abouts. You should be able to get it out with an Ezy out from there but if not go up drill sizes slowly till it does. If you wreck the thread they are 11mm so you will have trouble finding a helicoil for it.

Or so not having to worry about going straight the whole way through, Drill a whole a couple ml deep and wham a flat head screw driver and try that first maybe? After soaking in a bit of whatever you have lying bout of course.

Just forget it happened and re-assemble the motor anyway. I'm sure whoever buys it won't notice =)

I'd say the drill & ezy-out would be the go. Actually I heard recently of a product you can buy in a tube which when applied can near freeze a bolt. This therefore makes it slightly contract and can help with removal. Perhaps that in conjunction.
I think it may be a loc-tite product?? not too sure.

it is a loctite product , sells for between ten and twenty bucks a can, but you will also need a grip on the remains. I had a mobile thread repair guy do my EA81 M 11 thread helicoil, he had them. $50 6 years ago
