super slim thermofans

Post by Tim82 » Fri Dec 14, 2007 4:14 pm

hi guys,

just wanting some info about some super slim fans, i remember not too long ago something about european cars having some very slim fans. i've looked into the davies craig line, but they are still too fat for the limited room i have between the EJ engine and radiator.

cant really fit fans in front because im keeping the air con, if i got a custom radiator would this be any thinner in the core?

car is brumby, EJ 22 and MY radiator

Cheers Guys Tim

i think some euro cars ie merc's had really thin fans, would be expensive. Otherwise some reverse ones.

I'm facing the same problem...

If you lower your gearbox crossmember a tad that can make more room. Had to do that in mine. Now I have a huge 3 mm clearance!

so how much space do you have from crank pulley to radiator. mine was 48mm.

look at W123 benz for the thin 12" ones or SPAL for 14" thin ones.

well ive only got about 50 mm between the crank pulley and the radiator and 45 mm further up, i have a thin fan from the brumby with aircon on the drivers side but need something else to go on the passenger side.

do you know the dimensions of these merc fans?

was looking again at the davies craig fans and they are 50 mm wide, do you think its going to be just too close to put one in?

Cheers Tim
