impreza power issue

hi i have a auto 2000 gx impreza.Now this is a rough summary of what its doin when i sit on bout 90k the tacho shows that its revs go up then come down quickly.now its done this off and on so yesterday it did it at 80k and on this model auto theres a power button for quick bursts of power.this light started flashing at the time it was doining this?turned the car off and back on and didnt do it.anyway does anyone have a clue?am getting the car looked at but wonderung if anyone has had a similar problem?

SOUNDS LIKE ONE OF YOUR SENSORS IS PLAYING UP TRY READING THE CEL CODE

Have a look at the MAF sensor that is behind the airbox, give it a clean but do not touch the sensor part, use electrical contact cleaner and give it a squirt there.

tried the electrical cleaner but no such luck.Now takin it to subaru,boo hoo i so didbt want to take it back there.Get back to you with what prob is and how much 2 fix $$$$$ lol

Well took it to subaru and thay couldnt find anything except the auto trans fluid bit to hot,so advised to change that and see how that goes.Didn't cost anything though

have to be a first with subaru.Any way will be changing it and see how things go.

well bacically we stopped taking the car there cause they tried to rip us off and basically we told em to shove it and they quickly realised we new a bit about cars and wat eva.so i don't no if this had anything to do with it,but im not complaining lol.

well i dont have any we did what subaru said and its still doing it so im lost at the moment?
